Jonathan Schwartz is a feature and television editor in Los Angeles. His feature credits include the comedies Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates and Let’s Be Cops, both for 20th Century Fox, and a handful of independent films. Jonathan’s television credits include series at HBO and Showtime, as well as the first two seasons of Modern Family, for which he earned two Emmy nominations for Outstanding Picture Editing and won an Eddie, awarded by American Cinema Editors, for Best-Edited Half-Hour Series.
Jonathan has edited television pilot for directors John Hamburg, Nicole Holofcener, and Larry Charles.
Raised in Washington, DC, Jonathan attended Columbia University and earned a BA in Film Studies. After moving to Los Angeles in 2004, he assisted Oscar-winning editor Paul Hirsch and two-time Oscar-winning editor Joe Hutshing on eight films. Jonathan lives with his beautiful wife, an art historian and private curator, in the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles.
